We need more men - who can be role models - in father positions at home also!
This. School is meant to supplement home life lessons, not replace them. I understand a lot of homes are under stress, and I have friends who are very young widows and widowers. No situation is ever completely ideal. But I ache for my students who are clearly distanced from one or both parents.
I think we need better role models in general, regardless of gender. Men, women, as long as the people in these positions are inspiring others and working towards positive change I don't care what's in their pants.
This is a tough one because I don't want to see fewer women getting opportunities, but I do agree that a lot of toxic masculinity comes from a lack of real life role models who have character, leadership skills, and emotional intelligence. Otherwise it's a lot of "online learning" about what a male should be. And for women too, what to expect. Still, I wouldn't want candidates being prioritized over amazing women.

YES!
I think men can be role models in every position. I think I mentioned that I haven't seen men in the position of secretary in any building I have taught in or been a student. I think it would be great for more men to be in those roles, showing students and adults that men can do jobs that require those types of people skills.
I’ve seen a healthy mix of both genders at the junior high and high school levels, but not at the elementary level.
And unfortunately that’s sad! Littles need good male role models as well.
Yes — I find men more chilled out to work with — and they can also be good role models for even very young students.
Most definitely we need more men in education. I would especially say elementary

Every school I’ve worked in has had a healthy mix of men and women in all positions from janitors to admin.
I do think it's important to have role models of both genders. My school seems to have a decent balance, but I suppose if a particular school happens to be dominated by one or the other, there would be an opportunity to introduce more diversity and balance.
I'm not sure if we need more men in education positions. But I do think it's important for kids to have positive role models, regardless of their gender. So if more men want to be teachers, I say go for it! To answer your question more directly, whether or not we need more men in education positions is a complex issue with no easy answer. There are many factors to consider, such as the current gender demographics of the teaching workforce, the needs of students, and the availability of qualified teachers.
