Is there a log system they want you to use? If not, I’d use Excel and preload a sheet with a column for dates and a column with all the required strategies. Maybe even a preset checkbox column next to it. Then copy the sheet and put a student’s name on it when you start formally using strategies with that student. Note the date each time a strategy is used. When it’s full, send it to student services.

Yes we have a form that has to be used, along with the numerous forms that have to be completed. I swear sometimes you would thing teachers do not have anything else to do except complete forms and paperwork,
A teacher’s time should be focused on instruction. I realize there is more to being a teacher, but when did we get so far off track that students are allowed to disrupt the education of others, repeatedly?
I agree with having a form/log to help with the documentation process.

Yes when ğyou have to complete 3-5 types of interventions before you send a child down to Student Services, your instruction time is shot.
We have a discipline referral form that we fill out online. We use it to document misbehavior in the classroom, even if we talked to the student or parent and handled it ourselves. It is to document what has happened and been tried. If we can’t get the behavior under control or it is severe, then we fill out the same form and ask for action. An administrator then will call the student down and decide based on the previous documentation what should be done.

Loops, I totally by-passed our strategies today. Unfortunately, a student decided to mock me, laugh, interrupt, and create havoc. For the benefit of the other students, I had her removed from the room.

I am so thankful that our principal just sent out a Google form that has the links to ALL of the numerous sheets, forms, and docs that we have to use! Who-hoo! One place to access all!
