I'm the hiring mgr for designers in my org. I recently discovered pay band information given to me by the HR generalist I'm working with on hiring was outdated and updated bands had been released over the summer (prior to my hire date). The outdated information had led me to believe a prime candidate was out of range. Aside from incompetence, can anyone think of a reason why HR might have withheld information about the pay bands? I assume mgrs see the full monty when it comes to pay...right?

Can we please, please, please stop using "DPI" and "PPI" when talking about specs in purely digital creative environments? Some of y'all have never done print design in your lives. Say what you mean. Use pixels.

Got rejected by all of 5 of my schools. No interest in R2 now. Feel so dejected, and also unsure as to what I did wrong having been interviewed at each of those universities.

Any recommendations on smart thermostats that you love and enjoy? I would need to replace 3 thermostats in our home so looking for best value. Our electric company will provide them “free” but then charges $10 per month. We plan to be in the same house for many years so doing the upgrade ourself seems to be a no brainer.

Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. We’ve been attending a church for about 6 months now and trying to decide if it’s our church home. The only reason I’m hesitant is because people don’t seem to engage with us as much as I expected. For example, I told the pastors wife about a serious diagnosis we recently received and she did pray for us on the spot, but no one has reached out to us at all to check in. Am I expecting too much?

I would love a job that is virtual and gets the same perks as a teacher. Any ideas?

How is stratacent as a company to join?

Some recruiter in Accenture lined me up for an interview for a role which was not in my skillset ( by saying that this is just an evaluation exercise and they will map me to the right role) and obviously I got rejected. Now I see that I am not eligible to apply the role which I was targeting for the next 6 months. Any idea how can I get this escalated so that the recruiter ( Accenture employee) should at least be careful in future before fooling a noob like me?

Mumbai people should be paid extra. There is no way we can live close to office and also we have to commute very long distance in local if we want a okay type house in a good society. Our friends from other locations do not have this challenge so i think Deloitte should pay atleast 20% hardship allowance to Mumbai employees
