Went to college in the early 90s and majored in computer Science.

Got into web design in 1994 and started to work as a Designer in 97. Ran my own business from 05 to 14, and got into enterprise level UX UI Design.

Unemployed now and thinking about taking a certificate class to help freshmen my skills and boost my resume.

Thoughts if it will help and if so, any particular certificate I should get?

I found using GoFormative’s free version to be very helpful in teaching new topics to my students. I embed videos I make demonstrating how to complete a question, next I ask them to complete an example showing work, and then the next question they type their answer so it automatically alerts them to see if they answered correctly. It can be used live in a meet and on an independent virtual day. In my google meets, I’m able to give feedback on any question they have trouble with in real time.

Recently interviewed at Adobe, it was great. Even the senior designer I was connected with escalated it a lot. But then suddenly after the last interview, I haven’t heard in a week from them even after multiple follow ups. Recruiter said she will reach out on Monday, but even Tuesday passed now. Should I wait a week or move on for other offers?

If you notice that a junior associate on your team has over-billed, how would you handle it? I don’t want to get them in trouble, but noticed that they billed extremely high numbers even though I was doing all they work on the deal and they completely disappeared other than for client conference calls. Certain things that they billed for on the final invoice, I alone handled and never asked them to do. Appreciate any advice. I’m a mid-level in case it helps for context.

How much time should I expect between starting a UX design boot camp, doing a job placement program with portfolio building to landing my first gig? I hope to be able to work quickly because I’ll have 15-20/week devoted to learning.

Think it’s possible to do it all under 6 months? I have 10 years of graphic design experiments 6 with a large entertainment company. I’ve saved money and I’m ready for the switch!

How do you know you’re a good designer? I get most of my ideas from being inspired by other work and just creating what I feel looks good. I know how to use design programs. But, I don’t know if that’s enough.

Question! I just moved(transferred) to another team of my company and received new title, graphic & creative services. I was a senior graphic designer at the previous team. What do you think about my new title? I know that title is not a big thing but why I feel like my title is downgraded here… Good thing is my jobs here at my current team are what I really wanted to do. This is amazing. I love my new team and people here! Super healthy working environment! But just curious about the title.
