Are 8:30am daily check-in meetings reasonable? (We already have 9:30am daily standing meetings with the internal team, and now have an 8:30am standing meeting for a smaller subset of that team as well). I would far prefer to meet later in the day or at least after the 9:30am checkin...is it reasonable to suggest meeting at a later time that I think would be more productive? (For addt’l context, the full team is still quite small, so I find this to be very redundant)

LMAO what do Afro Latinos look like? I just asked a creative to include more pictures of Afro-Latinos in our hispanic messaging and she said "I tried to find pictures of videos that looked authentic but they didn't have the right look, it's a very specific look". I feel like I'm at my wits end. I teach self-contained classes and according to the ISBE website my classes shouldn't be more than 8 students unless I have an aide - then it can be 10. I have no aide and most of my classes are around 14 kids. Some with behavior plans that are only out of our behavior room setting for my class... Is anybody else out there going through illegal class sizes for self-contained? How are you dealing? Maybe a vent session is in order.

Getting out of education? I am recently credentialed and not yet teaching. I was accepted into a 4month i.t. program that is guaranteeing me 2x the starting teacher salary in four months. After working as a B.T. for 7 years and finally getting my cred, should I make the leap of faith to IT or wait until August for a position to possibly open?

I have a parent that I questioning the accommodations we are providing to her daughter. Accommodations can be amended but the student does not do any work at home. Help!

HELP! 30+ years of teaching Sped and I’m at a loss. 6th grade student in Middle School with Doose syndrome. Prior to MS, the elementary said he never caused problems. Since the 1st day, he is disruptive in class, refuses to work, and is disrespectful. He has a one-on-one para but she is in tears most days because of his behavior. Parents agreed with a behavior plan - he thinks it’s a game. Parents say he is not allowed to be this way at home.
