We go to the end of June. Our school year starts after Labor day
These kids have been out for one whole month now. I’ve had 20 consistent for two weeks. Now this last week the 28. Like they’ve had a break already. This is so unnecessary in my eyes.
You just now have spring break? We only have 3 weeks left in the year. Crazy how different schedules are.
I seemed to be in the minority when I questioned the wisdom of going ahead with "spring break." We've been out for almost a month. It's not like anyone can go on vacation - we're under a modified shelter in place order, etc, etc etc.
I'm very conscientious about how district actions reflect on teachers and the profession as a whole. Unfortunately, although I feel like I'm working just as hard from home, these are the things that elicit the feeling that education is a "sub-profession" and therefore, why should we receive pay and benefits increases, etc. It's an unfair analysis that could be put to rest if lawmakers visited actual classrooms. With that being said, they aren't and so when a district announces that they're observing "spring break" although we've been out of school for almost a month is not a good look. It also shows a lack of empathy for the front line professionals like nurses.
They cancelled our Spring Break
They honestly should. Or just like a 3 or 4 day weekend for Easter I guess. I don’t celebrate so I don’t care either way. But like I know I’m going to lose my kids.
Yeah we go until June something?
