What advice would you give someone who is consistently making it to final round interviews, but not landing the role? And what do you think is happening behind the scenes from a hiring manager perspective? It's disheartening to be rejected!

There too :(

sorry :(

Sometimes I think it's not necessarily about what you're doing or not doing, it's just luck of the draw. I've gotten jobs during final interviews where I swore I totally messed up. And then I've felt completely confident that I aced it and still didn't get the job. Sometimes it's just as much about the other people applying as it is about you and your skills.

you're right!

It's important to tap into your competitive spirit. The process is a competition and only one person is going to be the winner. It's possible someone can do very well but still get edged out. It's like those races in the Olympics where a swimmer will lose by a hundredth of a second. It's important to be competitive, at the top of your game, and go into the interview absolutely convinced that you're going to crush it and convince them that you are the person for the job.

good perspective to have, thanks!

Went for a pre-employment drug test yesterday. They never asked me if I was on any medications. I had to ask them and was told "oh yeah, just put any you may think make a difference in this text box." I put Xanax, Flexeril, and gabapentin. All of which are prescribed and used as directed. Now I'm terrified that I should have put ALL my meds, to including my psych meds. I've been sober over 12 years and never touched drugs (just booze) but I'm having a full blown panic attack.
