Just found out my wife’s uncle had a heart attack and they had to take him to 4 hospitals to get treatment.... the 1st 2 wouldn’t admit him cause they said how do we know if has covid or not... the 3rd one said we can’t admit him cause he didn’t come in our ambulance ... Those of you Director/ VP level HR folks, what exactly do you do in terms of “strategic” HR? I earned my Director wings 1 year ago. When I started in HR I always wondered about the meetings my Director or VP would be in. Like what were these big cool things they’d be working on. Now I’m a Director with only a generalist under me so I get bogged down with the tactical stuff but I’m wondering am I missing out on what a Director level person should be doing.

I am so burned out. I’m autistic, and there is so much that I just don’t know is a thing that I then get yelled at for not knowing is a thing. Partners tell me that I’ve got a rep as the go to person in my group for the difficult issues no one else can figure out. But then I get yelled at for being hyper technical or forgetting to enter time or literally everything, and it just feels like I can’t do anything right. I’m heartbroken I might not be cut out for this. It’s all I’ve ever want to be.
