Our kid (2yo) was very insistent on being “in it” from a very young age. she always want to join what we’re doing. She helps us set the table, clean dishwasher, load dishwasher. Last night she literally took a box to the trash room with me.
Kids don’t know the difference between play and chores….
Right! My LO was doing all that till about 3. After that something flipped and are now 'boring' stuff. Trying to get him back to helping and not just play and make a mess
We've been incredibly inconsistent but are trying to get into more of a routine now. My youngest is 7. He can wash (most of) the dishes, vacuum the carpets, feed the dog, dust the furniture. His favorite job is washing the cars and cleaning the insides (with dad) - but probably only because we consider that an 'extra' job and he makes money for doing it. My older two are 11 and 13, they also help with dishes, trash, and cooking dinners.
My parents (Accountant and Teacher) wrote up contracts. My dad signed and my mom notarized them.
My 12 month old helps me unload the dishwasher and loves it lol. Mostly just plates and bowls and it takes like 3x the time.
Tidying their toys at the end of the day
Our 2 and 3 year old help with rounding up toys at the end of the day, setting the table, and emptying the dishwasher
You’re still an awesome parent if you fail miserably at this.
My kids do the dishes and laundry and clean up. They started at 5.
