Anyone in strategy at a tech company (FAANG, unicorns, startups) and use a Mac? I’ve been told google suite is mostly used. Windows obviously wins with Excel, but unsure of Mac benefits (if any)
Im looking for FT product management/SWE positions post graduation this yr, and I have a summer post grad internship @ a tech vc. Is it a plus to list internship as “incoming xyz” etc. on my resume to provide some social proof of my competencies or is it better to leave it off? Benefits of leaving it off: indicates ability to start FT position sooner, looks like I’m not “job hopping” cuz my internship is in vc, etc. Internship said they understand if I renege for a FT job, is okay w them. Thanks
Trying to determine if I’m off-base: 9ish yrs of exp (7 + 2 post MBA). Focus in healthcare strat and org change/transformation — when folks call I’ve been asking for $175K base but the roles have topped out at $150K base. These are director level roles in industry and health tech. Is $175K too high? I’m currently at a T2 strat firm…
I'm a Healthcare Consultant for a large consulting firm headquarted in the D.C. area. I feel like I've been struggling to get the mentorship and guidance I need as a young, black female. I work very hard and I've been told by higher ups that they see my "potential". I just had a great performance review, but received a low raise and no promotion compared to others with similar background and skillset. I just feel lost and don't know how to move forward.
Has anyone ever been on an O-3 visa? Have questions about healthcare, traveling without spouse, etc. and would be really helpful to hear others' experience
Junior partner returning from maternity leave very soon, and I’d like to be implement better work habits. Pre-baby, my work habits contributed to work on evenings and weekends that was sometimes avoidable (don’t tell my spouse I admitted to that). What are your best tips/techniques/hacks for time management? My issues aren’t uncommon: midday lull in productivity, putting off the least desirable task in favor of ones I dread less, putting off work on long term projects.

What is the best health insurance for visiting parents to the US? Is it advisable to buy insurance from India?
Would you accept a job that offered ~50% hike over current salary? For context, I enjoy my current job and workplace - great culture, flexibility, work life balance albeit at a slower promotion path. I am very comfortable and have a good brand for myself. The new company is equally big and strong brand, but slightly less flexible (3 fixed days in office, no policy to work from outside the country for a few days etc). the role is similar function but in a different industry. Benefits are same.

Why don't more (white collar) Americans take breaks in-between jobs? Like a month or two summer break. Is this mindset that you need to work all the time a vestige from back when people would work at the same company for 40 years until they die?

Watching Inside Job. The top 1% and politicians who ruined the world’s economy and made millions off people’s suffering have us fight about illegal immigrants, vaccines, abortion, make enemies out of poor nations in the Middle East. What did we suffer more from? Illegal immigrants or the financial crisis? What have our branches of government accomplished in the last 20 years other than constant irrelevant fights?
I have a manager that sat me down and told me not to send emails after working hours to set the pace and tone of the workday for others. Now they're sending me (and the email chain) notes asking if I've responded to emails sent at 9PM the night before at 7AM the next day. Anyone navigated this and found a good resolution, or should I just let it go? I assume they're playing mind games with me at this point.
Listening to cyber client complain about resumes...hilarious! Somebody sent an 11 page resume, another 60, and another guy had 0 experience but 23 years of lawn care. #jobsecurity
