How about if I’m a liberal from Bay Area? Which area is best?
Pacific Northwest
Dallas
OP, it depends on where you are in your life. I live in Sugar Land (one of the Houston burbs) and I love it! We have good schools, safe neighborhood, good restaurants and bars, and one of the most diverse counties in the US. However, being a burb, this is not a party place. For that, any place inside the loop would be perfect!
Feel free to DM me if you need more info. I have lived in this area for over 10 years and can definitely thought partner with you if you would like. Good luck!
Thank you!

Heights & Montrose, maybe river oaks
River Oaks is the nicest area in Houston, but likely too expensive
Montrose
Heights!
Rice village
I’m looking for a place with decent schools. Maybe close to golf or a lake?
Woodlands is a very nice suburb with great schools, a ton of golf, and very nice homes. I guess it’s kinda close to Lake Conroe?
Drawback is that it’s about 30 minutes from Houston assuming no traffic
Not Houston.
Tanglewood is very nice and family friendly.
OP moving my family to Houston this summer and having a hard time deciding where to move. Have looked at all the places mentioned but can’t find a good mix of diversity, great public schools, proximity to downtown (where my husband will be working) and community. Sugarland has nice planned communities that checks most boxes but would be a 40 min commute. Spring is closer, beautiful, and house prices are reasonable but there’s no diversity. In the loop is close but schools are terrible so you’ll have to pay for private and an arm and leg for a brand new house on a street full of houses built in the 1980’s with no backyard. I’m trying to pick my poison but it’s hard. Good luck!
