Never pay for the extra insurance. You are covered 👍🏼
Work = covered
Personal = not covered
Pretty simple :)
All covered as long as you book through Trips on your corp Amex. Also, no fee for additional drivers :)
Pretty sure you all are wrong...don't we sign some form at hiring saying that we carry our own auto liability insurance?
D4. That form is coverage for your personal vehicle so that you are allowed to drive it to work. Rental cars have their own policies
Work or personal?
Rookie question OP. Now for a slightly harder one: fuel option or no?
^ No. Was on a project where folks would return the car as is if they couldn't re-fuel it enroute to the airport. Don't think the project controllers/ client care about it. Best to re-fuel but if you can't, it's not a crime
I doubt it, D4.
About extra drivers, only if they work for the same company so don't let your friends crash it
D4 is right. We shouldn't be driving rentals without a personal auto liability insurance
Fuel option:
If you have time for a drink at the airport you have time to put fuel in your rental car.
Unfortunately I I still have to call out team members who think it's ok to just drop the car - hate that
Does it matter, D3? I'm pretty sure our master agreement with at least one rental car agency says we pay market rate for fuel, not the absurd price they charge most people to fuel up. In short: no fuel option, and returning on "E" doesn't cost the firm more, either.
