What are you using for leadership coaching and development? Outside of real-life experience, how are you learning and growing? Are you taking classes? Relying on mentorship? Getting directing training from your leaders? What does this look like for women leaders and what are we doing for ourselves?

Combination of executive mentorship in my space and company, I hired a coach, and I have what I call informal “mentors” by listening to podcasts and following leaders in their space. I also read books and take courses to upskill. Before writing this I didn’t realize I did so much! It pays off though.

It’s a combination of things for me; I read books on leadership and personal development, I listen to audios/podcasts about entrepreneurs and folks that have overcome things in life + leaders like John Maxwell, I surround myself with people that have a growth mindset, and I spend time learning from individuals that have stepped away from their careers at a pretty decent age and live a value based life because those are goals of mine.

What do you do when you feel the goalpost has been/is being moved re: billable requirements? Like there's a spoken vs unspoken? I chose this job based on billables vs salary and what I'm being told I'm expected to do now is 20-30% (at least) > than what was initially agreed upon. Given my other life responsibilities, this is creating a huge strain & I feel like this is slowly getting harder & harder on my spouse & kids. I'm grateful to have lots of good work but not sure how to course correct.

Hi Account friends! It’s the start of a new year and I was hoping you all could share any book / newsletter / blog / course recommendations that help keep you up to snuff. Feeling a bit stale and like the last year has been a tactical grind. I want to brush up on modern thinking for our industry - the latest and greatest marketing books, strategy perspectives, creative self help, etc. to feel more alive as we start 2022.

Comment your favs and THANK YOU in advance!

Hi Fishes,

In my offer i see this line " We may require you to travel to other locations including in India and internationally." ,however in my earlier post I came to know that there are no travel opportunities in Telstra .Does it mean in the future I can negotiate with my manager for the travel?

Hi All,

Any news on bonus this year?

What would be a typical salary for a junior in house counsel role (3 yoe) at a publicly traded company in a secondary market (think Austin, Tampa, Charlotte)? I’m having a really hard time finding what a reasonable range would be. Most positions I’m applying to require desired salary in the application, and the truth is I’d accept anything north of 125k but don’t want to undersell myself and take a bigger cut than necessary coming from biglaw.

A friend of mine works with TCS as an Analyst, his base location is Bengaluru but he is been working from his hometown in Lucknow since the first COVID lockdown. Now he is being asked by his team to work from Ahmedabad, where his direct supervisor (manager) is working from. In this case, according to TCS talent policies, what is the procedure and the benefits that he can avail, as part of project initiated relocation? Also, how long it takes to get base location changed through HR in TCS?
