Security concerns - enters a new and untested attack surface. It's like the wild west or IoT. Especially considering the idea behind the "metaverse" is for multiple creators to be providing content and apps, etc. This provides a beautiful opportunity to introduce vulnerabilities and refine exploits. Couple that with the social element (going beyond even social media) and consider the social engineering capability. If this type of concept takes off and becomes an established norm, the "metaverse" will likely become an extremely high value target and is going to be an attacker and hacker free-for-all (both offense and defense).
Picture a Shodan for the metaverse. I see that in our future.
