Waste of money. MBA is really not adding value unless you're in Tier 1 consulting firms. Infact it's detrimental to career of you have any aspirations for Big tech in future. Seeing the trend, i feel one should only do it when and if it's a barrier entry for an executive position that you really want to achieve. For firms like ZS, it's not even required these days.
Helpful
MBA would help you to grow beyond a certain point. Knowledge and connections play a big role once you start looking for exec level positions.
As some others have mentioned it depends on career aspirations.
If you want to grow within ZS or similar analytical consulting firms then MBA doesn't make much sense (could be a way to move abroad if that entice you but there are easier / cheaper ways and ZS send many people already)
If you want to move to MBB than MBA (from tier 1 college) is almost must have and definitely helps bit in growth also (MBBs use credentials while selling cases). There is some case to make for startups and tech firms as well but that can probably be achieved without MBA also
Does MBA helps while you pitch in for a new project? I mean during the interactions with clients, while introducing yourself does MBA tag helps to get more client focus ?
No. We almost never give our education creds during a pitch
Well it depends a lot on your career aspirations... Have seen ZS consultants switch to MBB in the last few years post MBA. Even at leadership positions at startups. It can open product roles or PM roles in big tech for you.
It's very subjective and would depend a lot on your future goals.
