What do you do when a male colleague takes credit for your work or talks over you in meetings? I've been in a few situations like this lately and I'm not sure how to handle it professionally. Any advice on how to stand your ground without causing a scene?

I’ve been there too. One thing that helps me is speaking up right in the moment with something like, “Thanks for adding to my point. Now, as I was saying…” It redirects credit back without being confrontational.

If someone tries to talk over me I simply let them know I'm speaking. It's good to embarrass them, they need to be taught the lesson sooner or later. So far as claiming credit for my work, that wouldn't really be something that could happen, but if it did I also wouldn't stand for that.

Does depends on the specific situation. If they are trying to talk over me when I’m making a point, I’ll just ask for a moment to finish this thought and then turn it over to them. Taking credit can be trickier. I just make sure to keep a list and keep my direct supervisors informed of what I’m accomplishing.

Hi all-
I was going to be preparing myself for an interview for a T2 firm. I have about 7 months to prepare for the interview but am overwhelmed by a lot of conflicting advice on how to prepare. I am generally not the best interviewer but am confident of being a good fit for consulting.

I wanted to ask if anyone in a similar position (not great at interviews) managed to overcome this and how. I really want to nail this and am willing to spend a lot of time and energy to put myself through.
