What's the best way to prevent burn out in this line of work

Taking breaks, maintaining a positive attitude, and reaching out for support when needed.

When you have very heavy days, don't watch the news once your shift is over and you get home. Find something else to do that can relax you. You'll thank me later

It is a question that would be very easy to answer if we were talking about any other job, but our job is not only a job but also a vocation full of responsibilities. I think the best way to avoid burnout is, to be honest with yourself and know when the job is taking its toll on you, react and take a break.

I think that measuring officer burnout should be a duty of police stations; a police officer who is not in good physical and mental condition cannot function properly. Still, unfortunately, it is ignored, and we, as police officers, have become accustomed to always going to the end, which only makes us wrong.

In my case what I do is try to separate things, the things of my work stay in my work, when I get out of my shifts what I do is go to the gym or go for a run with my dog, this makes me stop thinking about work and my body and mind rest from that.

Hello, I invite you to do yoga, I went through a bad time, I got to the point of having health problems because of my job (I work in a very busy neighbourhood), and unfortunately, I was forced to stop all my work because of my blood pressure. After a lot of therapy and yoga practice, I got a balance between what I love which is my work and my health, now everything flows.

It's crucial that you remember why you got into law enforcement in the first place. Anyone who's made it past a few months in this line of work has a true calling, and it's worth investing in.

It's particularly difficult when you see so much anti-police sentiment out on the streets, online, and in media. But you have to remember that you are making a positive difference in the world. If it weren't for people like you and me, it wouldn't take long for absolute chaos to take over. Keep heart, my friend. I wish you well

I'm with you, I keep wondering the same thing myself. I don't know why people don't understand how hard it is on morale to hear that we are abusing our power, we're here to keep everyone safe and that's all we want to do...
