Joining a big firm next week as fully remote lateral and flying out to home office for orientation. The schedule has me in office until 4:15. I’ve already been told I won’t have any actual work. Depending on how many people are there and how it feels, I was planning to stay an hour extra but should I hang around the office until later? First time visiting this city so it’d be great to take in some sights too (although that’s not a priority of course).

Will firm say anything if I travel and but am still working? Probably intentionally. Probably a week or two. Figure the VPN will tell them

I’m considering quant, data scientist and AI engineer but I’m still not sure what career I want to do. Got offered 115K with 25-30% bonus for a fund accountant role with 3 years of public experience. Is that normal? Seems like really high. I live in NY to clarify. Combination of Big 4 and midsize experience. What’s the normal salary range for ppl in that range?

What’s the difference between a 750, 760 and 770. I just took for first time and got 750. I’m confident I can bump it up. Is it worth retaking or is there no measurable advantages of 10 extra pts
