Would argue no difference. Work on other pieces of your application.
I think people in general put too much emphasis on the overall score when the quant is really the driver. If your quant was 49+, no need to retake. If it’s less than that, could be worth it at HWS. (Speaking from experience here. Was dinged at those with a 770 and subpar quant.)
An admissions consultant telling you that one point on one subscore of the GMAT is a major cause of rejection is asinine. He or she just wanted to say something tangible that could be easily changed to make it seem like the consultation added value.
You might as well take it one more time, you might surprise yourself and score higher. And if you don’t, you’re not losing anything.
No harm in re-taking, since you can always cancel your score if it does go lower. Your official score report for schools won’t include any cancellations. Based on the 750 though, I wouldn’t spend too much additional time studying; instead, would recommend preparing for essays, narrowing school list, etc.
Getting above a 750 won’t help you at all. If high scores were all the schools wanted, there a enough people with 780s to take every spot at HSW.
Spend the time on getting your best possible application together (Recs, essays, etc)

This is does not answer your question but is just an FYI. Standard error of measurement on the gmat is 30 points. You could very well study get a lower score, but conversely you might not even need to study and could score a 770.
Dude, do not retake it. It’s a moot point. You’re above average for every top program. Unless you had a super weak GPA, I wouldn’t bother. If you’re looking for scholarships, then sure, retake it and aim for a 770 and above and a lot of top 12 programs will accept you with open arms with scholarship, granted the rest of your app needs to be very strong.
I know of 4 people who’ve gotten rejected from schools like Tuck, Sloan, Columbia, Yale and Kellogg with 750s. Similarly, know of people with a 650 who’ve been admired to top 10 programs including HBS A high gmat score doesn’t guarantee you anything. It checks a box that you have the mental capacity to handle the tough mba curriculum. You’d be much better off working on your apps starting now and crushing the essays. It’s all in the story.
White male if that makes a difference
FWIW I got into a top 10 with a Q42, and I’m not URM
You want me to define the top 10 schools .... ? There’s google for that
What verbal to aim for H/S?
If you’re confident that you can score higher, retake. I retook a 740 and got a 770 without much/any additional prep
SC1 - how did that addtl 30 pts help you?
Obviously couldn’t say for sure, but I think it made it slightly easier for multiple schools to offer me generous scholarships.. in the end it’s very much a stats game for all non-H/S schools
