Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

Seems high, but maybe they have been looking for awhile and are willing to pay now. Also the bonus isn’t guaranteed so $115k seems about right.
They were looking for months and seemed to really like me. Here they give bonuses every year and are known for it. Thank you for the insight
Normal comp for fund accounting. I’m in SF.
If you want to be a fund accountant and like the team, take it.
I already did. All the offers were about 115K. One of them was 120K but a much smaller bonus
That baiut right, give or take, for industry pivot. Be grateful for the offer. Congrats.
All depends if you like fund accounting. I think exit opps are limited, at least from what I’ve heard.
Honestly for me I think it’s a good. It’s a hybrid program among opportunistic credit, PE, and real estate. If I don’t like it, I can use my background to explore other avenues. But it’s hard to get in these large firms so I want to try it
Idk if that’s high? S1(2yrs experience) is 95k.
S2 maybe 100-105k? Considering industry so you get a 10% pay bump. So I’d say it’s on par? Plus VHCOL
Seems normal to me for NY.
Have you got the offer on paper? I was once offered a fund accountant role similar to yours. Once i got the contract it was lower than promised
Very nice
I just took a fund accountant role in LA (MCOL) & my comp was $110k with 10k bonus. My comp was about $95k 3 years in public account tax. So I’d say for HCOL that’s about right. Maybe slightly higher. Congrats!
Damn I feel like I know what role this is. Congrats!
🤣🤣
Congratsss!
I am very interested!
Salary is good & reasonable. Although I'm surprised that you can't get a senior fund accountant title with your 3 yoe at big 4? People i know that jumped to industry after 2~3 yrs at big 4 normally get the senior fund accountant title at least.
Title does matter whatever firm you are working for…it impacts your future pay/increase and your promotion track. And it matters on your resume.
I personally never see a PE/VC firm requires 3 yoe PA experience + another 3~4 yrs industry experience to be a senior fund accountant, that sounds more like a manager requirement. Unless you were completely doing something different for your 3 yrs at PA/big 4 that you didn't have any relevant funds experiences which then makes sense that they are treating you as entry level hire.
I would focus less on the starting salary and ask if you could get the senior title, bc at big 4 you would get the senior title with 2 yoe and going from big 4 to industry especially at staff/senior level, I rarely see people going from senior to fund accountant, normally people exit from big 4 get higher title/pay. Even you can't get senior title now, see if you could get promoted in the next 6~12 months. Doesn't hurt to ask.
This is within the range for HCOL for this level of job. Some probably would offer $110k for 3 YOE with 20% bonus, so you got a good deal
if you asked for $120k they might just adjust your salary increase or bonus payout next year to smooth it out, so it’s just timing (within 6-12 months)
