I celebrate geometry so it’s whatever the students want to explore. Cool curvy glass ornament for a Christmas tree? Get a polynomial for the side, add a bounded integral, and calculate the volume. Dreidel for Hanukkah? Map the netting and calculate surface area. Is that a snowflake I see? Bring out the fractals and talk about how the Koch snowflake and the coastline paradox mean you can have a limited area but an infinite perimeter.

That's so fun!
My students are predominantly Christian. I do not celebrate (decorate for) any of them. I don't want to leave anyone out, so I don't decorate.
I decorate but I keep everything secular. So if it's the holidays, then I do snowflakes + snowmen, things like that. I want everyone to enjoy the holiday spirit regardless of what they celebrate

I have used the fireplace idea with some background music, but I want to add lights, too!
My kids are mostly looking forward to Christmas, if only because it's usually a nice atmosphere.
My students and I celebrate all cultures and holidays especially if there is a food component involved. I do decorate in our school colors and themes: education, peace, kindness, love, joy…
As an elementary teacher, I went with the flow and allowed celebrations for Halloween, even though I personally did not celebrate it. Additionally, I allowed Christmas parties. However, I now teach high school. I no longer personally celebrate any of the recognized holidays, so I do not make the effort to recognize them. In high school, it is not really a big deal...decorations, parties, etc..

I understand that, especially as the ages change.
