No defined policy. Everything will depend on your manager and your salary. The greater your salary, the earlier they will ask you to leave if you are not assigned any project.
Ohh but like how many months we get to get allocated to project ?
There's no fixed timeline. First, they will try to fit you into roles based on your skillsets. If you keep failing screening by TLs or clients, HR will ask you to leave in lieu of your notice period pay.
Your salary plays a great role in how you get projects. If you are getting a higher salary than what the project can bill from client, you won't be considered for such roles even if you have the requisite skills.
