It's a battle right now because the school board hasn't come to an agreement on how we should use or not use AI in the classroom. I'm on the fence about it. It's a good tool for editing and wordsmithing, but not to give the students the answers or change their individual work into something other than what it originally was. How do you grade that or tell if it's from their brain?
I say why not? Love it or not, AI will be used in almost every other industry if not all of them. I don' education should be left behind on this. Students will be using it outside of class as well.

I agree. I tell my students if they use AI to cite it as AI, and it can not be more than 15% of their material. So far, my students appreciate the opportunity and have not abused it.
I feel like we are living in the unknown right now. I can see there are so many benefits in this new world of AI, but there are also so many dangers. How do we use it? How are kids allowed to use it? The list goes on.
At this point, I’d the kids are even smart enough to use it, I’m impressed.

No AI in our classrooms, homework or otherwise.

It is school policy, and we are a low-tech classical charter school.
