Johnson & Johnson What is your take on what is a good US big pharma to join at this time. Most of the companies outside Eli Lilly and Company I see are struggling a lot: Johnson & Johnson Bristol Myers Squibb Novartis Pfizer Merck Amgen

Best movie you saw for the first time recently?
Just signed the outside employment form in KPMG onboarding system. I actually wanted to start dabbling in creative writing as a potentially monetizable hobby, but I'm guessing this may pose issues.
Definitely interested in the "exception from this policy may be requested if provision of non-professional services doesn't interfere with one's duties of causes conflict of interest" clause, though. Has anyone been able to get one of those before?

The most interesting ones are mid caps. Pretty happy leaving big pharma.
I am at Novartis, and we have one layoff agenda after another. It is ridiculous how they fire and hire, and let go of the most competent people only to hire less competent people but who have the optics. That being said, I have first hand experience of JnJ, NVS, BMS and Abbie, and I would say at this current situation, Abbvie is slightly better than others.
I am in US and can only speak for the US offices
Culture at J&J sucks now. Has changed drastically for the worse the last two years. I can’t speak to the other companies though so hard to say how we’re compare with our peers.
Recently I hear negative feedback on leadership changes
@AUTHOR, you should connect with people via LinkedIn from the companies you are interested in. Perfectly honest with you, some of the anonymous people on this app don’t have much positive to say about the place they work daily. I often wonder why they haven’t quit but they tell people to avoid the company they are at. I would take much of the replies to your question with a grain of salt. There is NO perfect company. You’ll just end up disappointed looking for one. BUT there are places where if you get in and find that you like it, you’ll hopefully be fulfilled.
All crap, all the same. I’m at BMS and it’s awful. Constant layoffs and politics, I’m trying so hard to get out of big pharma
That’s definitely unfortunate to hear. I wouldn’t say all big pharma but definitely a reoccurring thing across many industries. I hope one day these people who truly deserves it, will get pay the credit where it’s due.
Alot of these companies are hiring temporary contract workers instead of permanent employees to save money or are just having current employees take on more work. Even Eli Lilly isnt really hiring alot of permanent employees at least in Indianapolis.
Not Biogen
Why?
Layoffs aren’t because they are struggling, it’s because they are now trying to invest more in small/mid size companies and most of the administrative work is outsourced. If i were you, i would start targeting Small/mid size companies who recently either secured funding or got strong pipeline.
It’s because they’re struggling.
Does anyone have any perspectives on the culture of Sanofi and GSK?
GSK is awful and so toxic and fake. Hippocrates through and through. They talk about people thriving but it’s more like dying. The leadership (VP - SVP) lie through their teeth make you feel like you don’t know crap when it’s really their insecurity because they’re managing up and torching their teams. I know EVERY PLACE has their politics but this is the gold medal. Colleagues I have are very good but we take care of each other. Everything you communicate needs to be in an email to CYA
I LOVE working at Johnson & Johnson as a research scientist! I’ve worked at two other companies prior to J&J and by far J&J is the best. I work in a great department of caring people, great management, and full of growth opportunities. The salary and benefits is great (best I’ve EVER had). Flexible work policy (4 days in office, 1 day remote). Currently 15 vacation days BUT there’s also 5 additional vacation days that can be used for family related responsibilities, time with family, etc. 5 sick days. Plus 4 flexible holidays (use for whatever you want)… many paid holidays… medical, dental, vision insurance available… 1 year salary of life insurance (free)… 401k match… pension plan… many employee benefits through Plum Benefits, and a host of many other things.
Hi there!! Would you be willing to help with referall at J&J?
Novo Nordisk is a great company to join at this time with their growing pipeline
Which one do you work at? I would love to get on with the one in Clayton, NC
