Fact:KSA is ~= 1% of global GDP.
Assumption: GDP is a primary indicator of consulting market size.
Assumption: A disproportionate amount of KSA GDP is gov-owned.
Assumption: Despite intensity of recent press coverage, gov work drives less consulting spend than private sector.
Assumption: McK has less relative share in KSA than in the biggest consulting markets (EUR and NAMR). Due to legacy Booz share position, BCG strength, etc
Therefore, McK rev in KSA <0.5% of their total rev.
You think there are private sector clients in KSA...?
^this guy consults
Less than <5% I would assume
BCG1. In saudi there is little distinction between private/public sector because most of private sector big players are owned by Sovereign wealth fund..plus GDP is not the primary indicator of consulting market...because most low income economies can’t afford consultants..in saudi they tend to heavily rely on consultants because of low skills of general population and the need to transform the economy beyond oil. Lastly, Booz share has been absorbed by Mck BCG Bain etc.
Not sure what low income has to do with anything. I’m taking about gross GDP, not GDP per capita. Lots of oil, no matter how the wealth is distributed. Open to proposals for a better metric though
Your point on private/public being muddled is well taken, though I’m a bit skeptical that S& has totally ceded the Booz position in the Middle East.
Shall we say 1%?
If it's 5% that's still significant
