30-40 active files would be normal. If all 60 of yours are in active litigation probably too many.

Very case dependent but I usually try to max out at 30ish cases but my rule is if you HAVE to bill more than 9 hours a day for a week you need help.
Yeah, I agree with the numbers that are being put up on this post. I run about 40 to 50 files at a time. But it also depends on how large the files are. If you have multiple car accidents where the plaintiff has significant injuries, then, that number might be a little too high.
That sounds so high, especially since you have some trucking, med mal and nursing home cases mixed in. In my state, a single trucking case is like 1.5—2 cases because the insurer and motor carrier are also sued (triple answers, discovery responses and more depos).
