It’s not a weird feeling. It’s likely in your onboarding documents. Most say that employees should have no expectation of privacy on corporate owned devices
Well glad to know I haven’t gone much further than the news or weather! (I may have searched up a recipe or 2 as well…)
There is no expectation of privacy, so don't save any personal documents to your computer, etc. Your IT department can remote onto your computer whenever they need to.
However, does your company have huge amounts of money to spend on having people either remote onto everyone's computer or review logs/tracking data regularly? Likely not.
Be smart, don't send harassing chat messages, go to adult websites, or save personal documents/images on company owned software.
Well, good thing all I do is check the weather, the news, and occasionally a route I need to do on google maps. May have looked at a restaurant menu as well, pretty inoffensive stuff
You should not use your work computer for personal business. Work is work and personal is personal. Just about everybody I know has a telephone and most telephones today are mini-computers of sorts. So, if it is that important, put it on your phone (on your break) and take care of it that way, or draft something (on your break) and take care of it when you get home. Most things can wait till later! This is just my thought on the subject--common courtesy to your employer.
That’s why I asked! Which is why the furthest I go is the weather or the news. That’s hardly personal. It sometimes appears on the screen automatically!
