Bowl Leader
Talend is currently the leader in ETL / big data technology.
The current market demand is high and supply is less, so it is hot skill right now and people having this skill are demanding huge salaries.
I feel it is here to stay, due to its Enterprise as well as Open Source offerings.
Large enterprises can certainly afford paying the license Costs and I would say it is comparitively cheaper to Informatica.
From my point of view It is the easiest tool to work on and the development/ deployment is very fast due to its out of the box connectors
Other tools in the Talend data fabric are also catching on like Talend Data Catalog and Talend ESB
Few companies are switching from ETL tools to doing ETL using Python and Airflow. Mostly the Product based and Captive industry. Main reason is the license cost. If they are previously using Informatica then they are migrating to Talend. After moving to Talend they slowly convert the logic using Python.

What I see is .... Mostly in the name of using cloud services.. people are migrating to AWS Glue or Azure data factory..
I am not sure how easy or difficult it is to use these tools..
Or how easy / difficult it is to maitain python code over the time..
Talend should be used for faster time to market to implement ETL ..
Yes the Licence cost is on the higher end ...
