The high and mighty attitude that is pervading this thread is precisely why Trump won and really shows you all haven't learned anything. If all of you are so much smarter than them, why haven't you figured out how to improve income inequality / raise real wages for the average American, or stimulate the economic growth required to find them all jobs?

@BCG1 because raising their incomes doesn't matter and is not a good way to proceed (see: comparative advantage). Stop taking your morality from Sesame Street and realize that this is survival of the fittest and has always been that way. For their one salaried factory job, we could support 5-10 families in developing countries and they are telling us that their life is worth more than 5-10 families and I'm not buying it.
Are you saying people of welfare have no chance in education! I moved to this country when I was 13, lives on welfare, dad was a security guard, worked 2 jobs in HS and college! What are you saying?

@A4 hope you don't use those quant skills on your project. Maybe try looking 1-2 levels deeper into that data (could minorities play a part in coastal "sanctuary cities", perhaps?)

Because refugees are often relocated to small towns. Remember, the govt provides assistance to refugees until they can support themselves. They aren't going to relocate them to expensive/big cities. They place them in places like Bowling Green, Kentucky.
