That’s a move that normally means you’ve not gotten the job. The recruiter and the hiring manager should have communicated to you. If you were picked they would absolutely keep you as a hot candidate before going on vacation.

Honestly, there’s only so many hours in a day. Does that make it right? No, but walk a mile on my shoes first. at my company it can be downright agonizing to try to get an answer from the hiring team (typically the ownership). They have analysis paralysis when it comes to hiring.

Due to obvious conditions my comp for the calendar year (salary+bonus) is back to 2017 levels although my overall sales are more than double and 1/3 less total comp than last year. It seems like comp opportunity is always decreasing during good times (I get it) but when it comes to adjusting during bad times, nothing was done. Is this normal for industry sales?
