Person on my ATL to SFO last week was wearing a full construction respirator with a surgical mask across the front. (Like in photo, I had to photoshop it together because I couldn't get a pic on the plane) Like... why?

It’s because the respirator underneath has an exhalation valve. It is super easy to breathe in respirator because the air just comes straight out. But some places don’t allow masks with exhalation valves (and / or the mask wearer was trying to at least protect other people a bit more than with just the exhalation valve). Agree the surgical mask does barely anything and the mask wearer knows that too (that’s why they put on the respirator underneath).

Full respirator with a mask? LMAO They probably wear two condoms and an UGG boot on top for some extra protection too!

funny

What they do has no bearing on what you do. Let them feel safer.

Pre pandemic I had a flight with with a young lady wearing a full -face and goggles gas mask. As in WWII in the trenches. Idk. Idk.

Steampunk cosplayer?

Yeah folks here misunderstand this persons intentions - they were not wearing the surgical mask because they think it gives them extra protection

It prolly had a vent and therefore the exhaled breath wasn't filtered. The surgical mask filtered it?

I worked hard at a small agency and was promoted from AE to AS after only 8 months in the industry. I had to leave and found a contract position as an AS at a large agency. I am finishing my contract and my boss offered me a permanent position, but wants me on as an AE. I am open to the AE position, but they are unwilling to compromise on the AE salary which is a substantial cut from my salary at my former agency and 45% of my contract pay. What do I do? Do I leave if I feel I deserve more?

After you’ve connected with a consultant on LinkedIn what’s the best practice for asking someone to give you a practice case? To balance respect someone’s time vs coming off as transactional. Should you first ask for coffee chat, then later a case or can you ask for a case in your first “chat”? I am prepping for MBB interviews but I know consultants work crazy hours so I don’t want to take up more time than necessary - what would you prefer? What is the best practice?

Hi folks! I’m currently a PM intern at a big Chicago agency but I’m looking to transfer into strategy. I don’t think I will be getting an offer from my current agency as it seems they are focusing on hiring more senior level management. Is anyone hiring or does anyone have any leads/ someone who could refer me for a junior position? It would be much appreciated as a fresh grad. Thanks!! 🤠
