Anyone have experience lateraling from a no name boutique that doesn't do much modeling? I learned modeling from BIWS but just don't really do it at work. Any tips?

It’s hard to trust the partners/leadership when they want us to return to office as being better when we increase offshoring? Also, the pressure on billable hours when all that really matters is how much our fixed labor costs vs. how much we can bill (which is usually fixed fee or at least a range) and the fixed labor costs of offshoring is significantly cheaper so the hours don’t matter. Am I mistaken by this viewpoint?

The relationship with my copy partner isn’t working as I expected. This person waters down every single idea we have. Have you experienced that before? If so, how would you manage the situation?

My manager (Technology Director) sees me as an emerging thread to his position and stopped sharing details / trying to avoid including me in visible projects etc.,
FYI - His manager is the division head and Managing Director.

- Upper mgmt is starting to identify me as the backup for all systems. My manager tries to move me out since then

Did first set of redlines for a partner. Have ten years experience doing what this partner does but I am new to working with him. Said I did about a 7 out of 10 on that job. Not sure how to feel about that. What say you all? :) Keep in mind I asked for a 1 to 10 because I cannot talk to him about it for a week or so.

How do you answer this question “What race are you?” Seems simple but as someone of Latin American geographic decent it seems more complex than Asian, black, native America, or White. No brown box !

I have never pulled the "racism" card ever in my career but do any of you feel like you constantly have to be better/more intelligent/and work harder than any of your white counterparts just to be acknowledged? After 15 years of a successful career in public acctg, I still feel like I am constantly getting the "book" thrown at me by superiors and clients as well. Its getting old....

Is anyone here actively involved in ALPFA and if so, would you recommend it? What have you been able to accomplish through your membership/participantion. Ultimately, I just get the sense that its for college students to network and try landing their first job.
