Worked with an agent on my first deal, great. Second deal now and I’m getting my license myself. I’d like to use her as a backboard for ideas and don’t mind giving her a “finders fee” or something but would like to capture the commissions myself. What would be the normal way to have this convo?

Why would an agent help someone who is trying to cut them out of a deal?

If you want to be an agent, then be an agent. But i think it’s tacky to ask your now-former agent for feedback after you’ve clearly replaced their incentive to help you.

Can you bounce ideas off of other real estate investors in that area who aren’t agents?

Seems reasonable to me but I’m not a realtor. Might depend on how busy she is if she’s interested or not. If you buy her listings i can see her being helpful but would there be a conflict?
