I don’t get it: Why would anyone invest, for example, in a 6% dividend yield etf with a 0.50% ER (ie EMHY) instead of a 9% dividend yield etf with a 2.5 ER (ie YYY)? Wouldn’t you still be getting better results with the expensive one?

If I have two 401ks (current job and previous job), does the 19k limit apply to both of them together or 19k each?

If I were to rollover a pension lump sum into one of those 401ks, is counted towards the $19k limit? Or is rollover classified differently and I could still continue to contribute to my current 401k?

So my fiancée and I are relatively late in terms of finally landing well paying jobs and being able to save money instead of living paycheck to paycheck. Need help on how to invest. We are positioned to pay off our house later this year. Expect to work for another ~20 years. 401k fully funded and have some company stock investments maturing over the next few years, but no investments outside of that. Kids have a prepaid college plan for certain schools. Emergency fund is solid. Where should I look to start investing? I have fidelity for my 401k, would they be good to open a taxable investment account with, or are there better options?

SO and I are debating contributing to 401k this year since the rate of return is around -11% on our portfolios this year. I believe it would be better off saving the cash in my account.

I'm thinking of contributing again when/if the market picks up next year. Thoughts?

Me and My so presently live in Arkansas, living in our first home with a child 4 year, both of us recently changed our jobs and have HHI ~ 420K, current mortgage 1600/month. We are looking to move to Dallas and thinking of buying a house ~996K with a 15% down. Questions -
1. Should we go for house of that budget? We can afford, but asking based on market.
2. Should we down 15% or just 5% ? Or go for 20% ?
