You ever notice how the exact same mistake can play out very differently at work? Two people do basically the same thing. Same situation, same outcome.

One gets a formal warning, a serious conversation, maybe even an email about it. The other gets a quick “don’t worry about it, it happens.”
That’s when you start realizing workplace rules can sometimes feel a little flexible depending on who it is.

Anyone else seen this happen before?

Happens all the time. Favoritism is a real thing unfortunately. It's really frustrating feeling like there are two separate sets of rules at work.

To add to this sometimes it's because one is a poor performer and one is actually good at their job which could change the reactions.

Yes, I’ve seen it. But I don’t allow it. Everyone is documented the same way, only way to keep it fair

I’ve definitely seen that. The mistake isn’t always what decides the reaction. Sometimes it’s the person, their history, or how management views them. It can make the rules feel a bit inconsistent. Has anyone actually seen this handled in a fair way?

I have seen that for sure and I've even experienced it. But usually the stern warning comes after a pattern of behavior rather than a singular occurrence. When somebody keeps making the same mistake over and over again, the corrective action gets more intense.

So, who are you using and are you happy?

I found using GoFormative’s free version to be very helpful in teaching new topics to my students. I embed videos I make demonstrating how to complete a question, next I ask them to complete an example showing work, and then the next question they type their answer so it automatically alerts them to see if they answered correctly. It can be used live in a meet and on an independent virtual day. In my google meets, I’m able to give feedback on any question they have trouble with in real time.
