I stopped drinking cold turkey about 25 years ago. It was a miracle to me as I had no intentions of stopping. I never hide it; stinging self honesty is what keeps my shit in check. Glad I found this

If u have the addictive gene, Advertising is so easy to self destruct. Supporting each other is invaluable. Keep these posts going. It DOES get better. U can be sober in advertising.

coworkers planning my 5yr work anniversary party asked what alcohol i wanted. i said none. their reaction was shock even tho they know i don’t drink anymore. but yea how dare i ruin my party for them

I really hate it when the agency organizes executive events during the day centered around alcohol- like can’t even fake this one : wine making.

Full calendar month today. Longest without drinking in a very long time. I found it easier than I thought I would, but holy fuck has my sugar intake gone up.

Confession: never had a sober relationship. Never even dated sober. Newly sober 1 yr & no clue where to start this.

At an in-office happy hour I once had a coworker shout out loud that she doesn’t trust people who do not drink upon discovering I had OJ in my champagne glass. #rude #IdidntGiveAfuck

How do you get through the work day in a productive manner when your body is chemically begging for a drink ? It kills me because all I can think about is making it long enough to go home and drink.
