Layoffs at CDM ... again
Hi all.
Has anyone in IBM been on bench for more than 4 months here?
I have been on bench for almost 4 months now & have been getting automated mails asking me to get assigned to a project by searching one by myself, else necessary action might be taken.
And are there any chances of being straightaway fired based on these automated mails?
I would genuinely need an advise from someone who is aware of this kind of situation.
Thanks in advance

Chief of Staff roles, yea or nay?
Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!

Can you talk to someone in HR?

FMLA Offers Protection Against Being Fired for Going to Rehab
The Family and Medical Leave Act provides protection if you take a leave for medical reasons and can provide you with up to 12 weeks of unpaid time off from work annually without the risk of losing your job. The FMLA also calls for existing group health benefits through your employer to be maintained during your leave.1 A substance use disorder is considered a medical condition.

OP - how are you? Any updates?
I did this two years ago at a previous agency (2 months off, followed by a year of flexible working to attend therapy sessions) and it was worth it. It sounds like a very long time, but it's nothing. It might stall your career for a tiny bit, but you'll feel like you've made tremendous progress in life in general which is harder and more important. Yes, when I got back I felt the sting of being passed for promotion but managed to get a better job elsewhere anyway.
Unless they ready know, they are not allowed to ask what your medical leave is for. I took off a month many years ago and did not disclose it was for treatment. When I returned to work it took me a month to really get back in the swing of things.
