I want to join Birlasoft but not sure if they will give me same profile because IT Companies after joining change projects sometimes. Any suggestions from Birlasoft or Genpact employees. My domain is in Oracle Apps Technical (Genpact ). Birlasoft it is PDH( MDM) cloud version. CTC offered :- 16.5 + 1.85 + 50k(Birlasoft )

Big 4 consulting -> strategy at tech
Could you shed some light on RSUs / stock based comp in tech? I read about folks making 1mm+ - curious how that works.
When I started I got an initial grant of $60K RSU with a 4 year vest and a 1 year cliff. I think these are pretty typical terms, obviously the amount will differ.
In terms of valuation, the $60K was based on my starting month. So if the stock was $100 when I started, that means my total grant was 600 shares (60K / 100).
What that means is that after 1 year (cliff), I started being eligible for stock based comp. After the initial 1 year grant (25% of the total), I started receiving stock quarterly (so each quarter I get 25% of 25% of the total).
In the example above - after 1 year I would receive 150 shares (600/4) and then each quarter after I receive 37 shares (600/4/4). I receive these shares at current stock value, so it can be higher or lower than the intended grant. Eg if the stock is currently worth $200, I’m actually getting double the intended amount.
With raises and promos, I often get stock refreshers - this means a new grant that is subject to the same vesting principles above.
The more senior you get, the more stock you get as it’s a retention measure.
I typed this all out at midnight after a few drinks, so apologies if unclear. Investopedia for RSUs probably explains better!
