Need some urgent help can anyone DM me, Please
I am reaching out to you all and am looking forward to break into Investment Banking from Consulting. Applied to Goldman Sachs via a referral but my resume is stuck after HireVue. Talked to the VO who referred me and he said Goldman doesn’t hire in Q4. If that’s true and still need to be in GS, can someone forward my resume directly to the team? Their career portal sucks. TIA Goldman Sachs PS: I promise a dinner in a dance place in NY after I get hired as a sign of my gratitude 🙈

Seeing salary compressions across the board. Candidly, I’d take the Google offer even if it’s a cut. You’re still young and have plenty of runway to make more $. The Google brand will be a great addition.
Hahaha didn’t know that!
seems a bit low. Post MBAs ive see have sometimes gotten L5s which is around where you are at in terms of tenure. If you want to break into tech might be worth the hit to L4 but thats a personal choice.
Agreed L5 offer would be ideal, promo cycles are slower and less predictable at Google than BCG and other places - could take you a while to get back to where you were if you’re not impacted by the big tech downturn before then
Why leave at 6 months? Dont believe the startup will have a liquidity event?
Thats a good base for anywhere with only 7 years of experience, but a startup especially.
Because most startups don't have a liquidity event, or not one that is successful enough to benefit employees, or if they do it happens 10 years after you've left, and in the meantime nothing is guaranteed since your shares aren't liquid.
OP's real comp is 205k, the rest is a lottery ticket
Where do you live and where does the new job require you to be located?
Why would you take a pay cut?
Hard to tell without knowing CoL in your current area and where the new role is
One thing I’ve learned is never take a pay cut
