What is the interview format for corporate strategy or corporate development roles? Case study/ financial modeling test? Any tips or resources on how to prepare? I’m just starting to look for exit opportunities. Any help will be appreciated
If you apply to MBB with some experience (1.5-2 years) and start at an entry level position, do you get paid the same as campus hires or more? If more, how much?
Do any of the MBBs consult for FAANG or top tech companies? Or do all those companies exclusively use in house strategy teams? If any MBB does, a referral would be much appreciated
Anyone know someone who’d be interested in a marketing role at a top VC fund in the South? You’ll be working with some of the most successful investors in the region - partners include a former unicorn founder and a CEO of a $15B company. Ideally a background in tech/digital marketing - looking for someone with 2+ YoE. I don’t have salary details, but I’d imagine pay’s around 80-90k + bonus. DM me for details.
Thoughts on moving from public accounting SOX/controls position, with 2 years of experience (no senior title yet), into a 3 year Accounting and Finance Leadership Rotational Program?
Curious-Can you work as an auditor and part time work in a totally non financial position in a non financial Industry like a trainer in a gym, an EMT in healthcare, an agent in media, etc?
Any of y’all ever move from agencies to a marketing role? How’d you talk about your experience?
If you’re looking to jump to mid market, let me know! We’re hiring across the board in audit.
Hi all! I’m talking to someone tomorrow on the team for a role I’m super keen on. Luckily enough (not sure If this is good timing) when I reached out to them a few weeks ago and confirmed the time for us to connect, a job in their area opened up a few days later. I’m super keen on trying to push my application and ask about the role (already applied but without a referral :() How would you approach the conversation? I’m a little intimidated since it’s at a hot tech company and they’re MBB.
Anyone receive an offer for Senior Manager, Strat and Ops role at DoorDash recently? Do you mind sharing what was your total comp? Have an exploding offer and might not be able to finish the DD process. Did a search but couldn’t find the range.
About to start a new job but have a pre-planned 2.5 week vacation for end on September. Feeling a bit uneasy about taking such a long break so early into a new position.... will they think I’m lazy and immediately get a red flag? I know it’s long but I haven’t taken vaca all year!
Two years in and I'm still kind of bad at the job, which is hurting my confidence and probably making me worse at the job. I'm trying to stick it out for one more year (will be more like 6-8 months with externship), but curious how others who are mediocre at MBB have found the exit process.
Best exit opps out of MBA programs? Why is everyone so obsessed with MBB or PE? What are some other high paying opps with better WLB that are fun as well?
Need ethics/moral help from my fellow 🐟 I got laid off from ACN earlier this year. I accepted an offer and started at a boutique consulting firm exactly one month ago today. This morning, I got an email from Deloitte recruiting for the same position I’m in now, which is where I want to develop my career. Part of me wants a break from the big consulting firms, but at the same time, going to a Big 4 would feel more at home to me. Is it worth entertaining the offer, or should I just stay away?
If I took a part time MBA program, can I still campus recruit for a summer role at MBB, Big 4, FAANG, etc?
I have worked in the HR space for the past 9 years, however most of my experience has been in Talent Acquisition. I do want to move into a People Operations/Generalist role. I’m planning to go for a HR certificate but unsure if I should go for a PHR or SHRM. Please advise!
Wrapped up an internship a few weeks ago and looking for a Jr AD position or another internship in NYC. Haven’t seen many positions posted and I’ve reached out to recruiters with no luck. Any advice?
Was approached by Accenture for a principal role. Any insight on comp? Base/total. Glassdoor gives a pretty wide range of 183-268 base...
Curious about what sort of projects are available in the OCM space at Deloitte. Ready to take on a new role soon and seeing whats out there. Experience in tech implementations (Salesforce/Workday) Also worked in automotive, wireless and finserv industries
I feel trapped. I hate consulting, hard work, corporate life in general. I have so much student debt after MBA school that I have to take these high paying jobs that require a lot of effort but I just don’t think I’m built to do this forever. I don’t spend much on other things but it’s scary what happens to my finances if I make a major purchase like a house, have a kid, etc. Not sure if I’m asking for advice or rambling
Am I overlooking something or do most schools not ask about college internship experience?
So I got an interview invite for a position as an Instock Manager for the Media Business at Amazon without me applying or anything.... anyone knows anything about the tasks performed in that position?
Starting a discussion about a promotion and pu bump. I have done was asked by my old boss and had an underperforming direct report. I still accomplished my tasks and helped our corporate team particularly with data analysis for most of last year, and working with a new boss. My new boss seems hesitant about promoting another person in my team. How can I make a strong case without making the aforementioned barriers seems like excuses?
Any rumors of PWC joining the parental leave arms race? EY and Deloitte upped theirs to 16 weeks paid leave, while Don Draper PwC kicks new parents in the nuts and tells them to get back on the road
Happy Father’s Day out there. You Padres are killing it with your selfless dedication with your sacrifices to your families. Challenge yourselves to spend time more time with your kids. That’s the biggest regret I hear....to all the fathers that screwed it up get your $h!t together and be the father you always wanted. Cheers!!!
Anyone familiar with the “CitadelX” team within Citadel? Got pinged for a Technical Program Manager role for that team, want to understand comp & culture
Has a recruiter ever reached out to schedule a call after your final interview? What does this mean?
Is it possible to interview into a role up at another firm, if I am looking at a promotion already (double jump)? Id probably would lack the YOE even though my promotions were consistently fast. Would it be better to just stick around?
Big 4. Last year was a promotion year for me, and I killed it. Got the promo, the highest performance rating, a 15% raise, and a 20% bonus.
Risk consulting 🐠, what do you think about the FRM certification? For those that have it, has it helped you on project work and do clients look at it favorably?
Interesting read on police unions. I feel this could apply to just about any public sector union. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2021/07/bust-the-police-unions/619006/
Fairly confident I’ll get an in industry offer this week! Mixed feelings though... Main reason for leaving is WFH consulting just simply isn’t enjoyable. Getting harder for me to see the value in grinding for consulting. Is this short term thinking off? Do people think weathering this storm will give potential raises / promotions soon? I just don’t see consulting going back to what it use to be for ~2 years. I’m a consultant level going for promotion to manager.

Need advice 🐟 fam- I'm in an extended PMO role that doesn't require any brains. I have great work life balance but a lot of free time. Advice on how should I develop professionally? Certifications?
🐠's need Advise. I am tempted to move to another big 4 for better pay. Considering speaking to PPED regarding my compensation before making a decision. As a senior 2 earning 89K. Is that standard?
Should I still go to Majorca next week given the terrible COVID sitch over there? I’m very hesitant and need to make a decision literally by tomorrow morning
