How much is the pay for data roles in the UK? I'm a data analyst with 2 years of experience and a Masters degree in Data Analysis. I have a decent project portfolio in data science. I'm experienced in SQL, Power BI, Excel and Python. I'm eager to land a data analyst or data science role. One of the companies offered me 36K. Is this fair? If not what should I aim for? How much can I negotiate?

Recently I applied for the SOC role in IBM. Cleared all the rounds. The HR was offering me 5.7 lpa. I asked for more. HR said she would check and get back. Hasn't replied to my calls since the last 4 days. Should I expect a call?

Does an MBA (US) make sense for me? Male, Indian, Age 32, Married working in tech consulting with 10 YOE. Base is $165 with steady increases and bonus is typically 15%. I eventually do want to cross the $300K threshold but I know stopping work for 2 years and getting and MBA probably won’t get me a $300K job right away. Becoming a manger in my current company/path will probably get me there in terms of TC. Also considering EMBA from a good school (Wharton Global, Duke, Kellogg, Booth).

How would you recommend improving this profile for GSB?

HYPSM ug in econ, 3.7gpa, GRE 169v/163m. 4 years exp (age 25) on matriculation (2 MBB, 2 int development). No promos.

ECs: founded social enterprise, journalism (on health, environmental inequities etc) at top pubs, published academic research, 4 yrs volunteering as advisor for social entrepreneurs. Recs good not amazing.

ST career goal = social impact VC; LT = social entrepreneurship.

Im strongly considering an MBA. Only thing that deters me is cost. I’ve heard of some tier 1 firms that will offer tuition reimbursement for returning interns post-MBA, how common is that? Also considering pivoting to a firm that offers scholarships. Any tips/insight on this? Thank you!

Assuming I get into CBS/Wharton, is there that much of a difference between them to forgo scholarship money? Had a phone call last week with T15 adcom inquiring if they had additional merit funds. Adcom said she would pass my name to scholarship committee and would only hear back if I was granted more aid. She did say she would follow up with me as we got closer to deposit deadline (end of month). Should I email her for a follow up or schedule another phone call or just wait for her to follow up with me?
