no one wants original anymore. it hasn’t been “proven” to work yet.
Geico nails their strategy/insight in each of their concepts; State Farm gets further and further away from it the more they try and become an entertainment brand.

Nope. When people talk about “insights in advertising” it means a consumer insight that might actually motivate you to consider the product, not a completely unrelated “insight” (aka a joke) about how characters act in a horror film or annoying coworkers talk about “hump day”. And on that basis, their stuff is some of the thinnest around, because it’s a random vignette and then a strap line that (weakly) tries to close the loop, like “that would be weirder than not saving with GEICO.” It’s almost anti-strategic because it’s supposed to be a “surprising” tie.
The Progressive parent work is the only insurance work with an insight, that as you get older you have to get more practical. GEICO just hits savings over and over, which isn’t an insight, it’s blunt force.
I’m not denying any of your points about their comedic craft, but you must work on the biz or something, because no one else sees a huge difference between those brands. They certainly aren’t strategically rigorous.
But we all agree the emu is the worst of the 3, right?
I can’t look at him the same way after he and Shane Gillis murdered that dude and planted those drugs.
Anything that minimizes Jake’s screen time is preferable to the alternative. If I ever contract a terminal illness, I plan to stand in traffic and sing the song to summon him just as I’m about to be hit by a bus.

How so?

Isn’t that the formula for like 80% of comedic ads? Seems hard to claim that GEICO owns analogies😂
