Op, it was racist when he said a federal judge may not be impartial because he is Mexican or when he proposed to ban an entire religion. We can open our mouth wider in disbelief every time a tweet comes out, but by my personal standards the lines were crossed way back. This is a very consistent behavior and gop for its part has been consistently enabling it for years.
Let’s be honest here, he is doing it because he knows GOP can’t do shit and his base loves it including closeted trumpets. 2020 will either establish this as a norm or reject this. Time will tell
It’s tough...I’ll always be a conservative person, but I recognize that I’m closer to center right than some of the other conservatives in the bowl. Racism never surprises me, to be honest. And I’m not one of those people who pretend it doesn’t exist or try to deflect to the left to save Republican Party face. Other people don’t change who I am at my core. I vote for the leaders and lawmakers who resonate to me and that’s not always a Republican. For instance, I did not vote for Trump and I don’t see myself voting for him in 2020

OP - for me this was just consistent with a lot of his other language. He spews hatred. I am a Jew and while I don’t believe Trump is himself an anti-Semite I do think he incites anti-Semitic beliefs because that plays to his base that only wants a white America. We are a nation of immigrants; so why someone of color is told to go back to their country but Trump’s family who is of German origin is not is outright racism. We have seen this before, the US used to have quotas for less desired people from Southern Europe compared to Northern Europeans. Trump himself expressed this view early in his Presidency. This statement to me is equally blatant. However if this is what it took for you to reconsider voting for Trump then I am ok with that.
A lot of people on this thread are hitting OP about this being the straw that broke the camel's back. On the one hand, I can sorta get it.
**BUT**
I encourage everyonu to consider that the right wing media ecosystem basically hides a lot of Trump's worst stuff from viewers. It would not shock me if OP has a very different (personal opinion, wrong) version of the facts than I do. I appreciate that he or she still has an open enough mind to be having these thoughts.
OP, Trump was also deporting naturalized citizens for “crimes”, which could be translated as “moral fiber crimes”. If you weren’t born in this country and an “enemy” of Trump, you can be deported and they can easily dig something up like going to a political rally and mark you as a criminal.

Accenture 2- I understand where you’re coming from however, I disagree. It’s not embarrassing for us to call someone out because they weren’t able to identify injustice, inappropriateness, indecency, etc in the president until it related to them. It’s important that we are able to recognize that sexual assault by anyone, let alone a president, is unacceptable. It’s important that we recognize that mocking the disabled is unacceptable. This list could go on and on. Reminds me of the Martin Niemoller poem:
