Agreed, I would rather have someone who is from the culture actively advising teams on how to best address the needs of people in the culture they’re talking about.
Also, as a point of reference. I have worked several times with her. She of course maintaining a Senior position in Multicultural, while the minorities have to report to her.
Are you working at Klick now? Do you have proof that she is “passing”? If so let someone know - better to nip this kind of thing in the bud than let it fester.
Not working @Klick. Proof? Ask her, she does not hide it. She has been married 3 times and Gomez is her first husbands last name. She is not a Latina. She learned Spanish just like any other Caucasian person. This doesn’t make her and expert in Hispanic Marketing. Basically, she is taking someone’s else’s place. It is hard enough for Hispanics to get jobs in ad agencies, but to have someone go around and disguise themselves as one and get very high profile Multicultural jobs in the industry is insulting.
Exactly! This is a clear example of a prívele fed Caucasian woman taking advantage of simply having of a language and exploiting it. These types of jobs should go to minorities, end of story. Amy Gomez is not “in-culture”.
