How many years of experience do you have and is this at a law firm or an accounting firm? I’m a CPA and attorney as well and this sounds like an entry level salary at a very small firm, but I think you can do a lot better.
Ask for $65,094
My starting salary in B4 in St. Louis in 2014 was 62k. CPA and lawyer, no LLM. So I would say this is low
Yes, it’s low. B4 is paying more for the JD/CPA. I’m local, so DM me if you want to talk.
For a fresh no experience associate attorney for a small firm, it’s okay. It’s about in line for what you would make as a first year at a big 4. If you have more than a year of experience I’d definitely ask for more though.
D1, definitely! $85k for a senior with a JD is just criminal, even if you’re not in M&A. Our international salaries aren’t too far behind M&A from what I hear. But unfortunately I can’t recommend KPMG if you’re looking for something remote - there’s huge pressure to return to the office 3 days/week right now. I’ve been conflicted about it.
