What if your entire consulting career thus far have been a variety of functional roles (BA/PM type) and no expertise in 1 area/technology/industry? How are exit ops to other firms or even industry?
000’s have been laid off. Have been wondering how we can come together as a community and help each other. Inviting best minds here to ideate how we can flip the struggle into an opportunity, e.g. create a separate LinkedIn group or Bowl for LetGo folks, offer references and opportunities to those exited, creating an inventory of People-Skills and engaging this pool directly with clients, offering counselling and mentoring...Ideas anybody?
I’m turning down a higher role with higher pay (12% higher) solely because the HR team has been extremely unhelpful throughout the decision making process. From not getting responses for weeks, to consistently receiving “I don’t know, let me follow up” then not receiving follow ups, and everything in between. All of the interviews leading up to the offer was great, but then red flags started popping up making me feel very uneasy joining this company. Have you ever denied an offer because of HR??
New consultant in Big 4 here. I can’t believe I am asking about this, but I landed on a team where half the team are older East Asian immigrants and don’t get along due to national and cultural differences. I am just watching virtual hostility in front of me daily. The other half of the team (myself included) are American raised of all different identities are more junior and just don’t know what to do. Advice please.
Please critique my annual budget. Family of four in the Bay Area. HHI: 850k Income tax: 300k Daycare: 50k Housing: 45k (mortgage + property tax + insurance) Grocery / restaurants: 20k Charity: 15k Random Amazon spending: 10k Car + gas + insurance: 10k Medical: 5k House cleaner / landscaper: 5k Utilities: 3k Retirement savings: 135k (maxing out everything) Remaining for taxable savings: 250k Don’t do enough travel but that is largely due to COVID. Saving 45% of gross is probably too much?
I recently accepted an industry exit offer at 2 YOE. I have taken vacation for the last two weeks and am meeting with my talent manager today to let them know. They think we are meeting to discuss the pipeline for next week. Any advice for the conversation? I have enough PTO to last until my start date in mid August. Can I expect to take all of it?
I recently heard a client talking about the sex wage gap as if it were real. I declined to engage since I didn't want to irritate the client. However, I thought this had been conclusively dispelled? There is no statistical disparity in pay for the same work between the sexes right? How do you correct this fallacy with a client? Is it worth it?
Looking to get some insights in PwC's bonus policies. I have an offer from PwC in their Salesforce practice and the bonus offered is a range of 27% to 35%. But they have not included that bonus % in the offer letter. For those who have worked at PwC, is this a norm? Have you seen them follow through the Bonus payout? Does the bonus % change significantly from YOY? What are the individual objectives/targets that need to be met at the Sr Manager level to earn the bonus?

If you were on the bench for a while with nothing on your plate, would you volunteer for an RFP in your practice but in an area you have zero interest in? RFP is for an ERP implementation
Why is it so hard to get placed on another project if everyone keeps saying the bench is so thin?
Any ideas/suggestions on how to go about forming a diversity committee at a mid size regional law firm? I expect it would be met with some amount of resistance. Thanks!
