Hi - same situation. We started with our nanny this Feb and our 19-month old has adapted. I’m pregnant so have been able to work remotely since. You just have to leave and let them figure out a routine. I would start by being on different floors and occasionally checking in. Then maybe step out for a bit and let her know when you’ve returned. It’s okay if she screams and cries in the beginning. Also you have a baby so she’s probably going through a lot. Try to have specific activities you do with her routinely. I feed her breakfast and dinner, and take her on an evening walk.
My daughter still prefers us but she’s fine with the nanny. Nanny also finds fun things to do with her so that helps.
She wants mom or dad to do bedtime routines without nanny involved (she screams if the nanny comes into her room). She also screams and goes crazy if we leave the room while she is with the nanny. But she also seems to like the nanny (who is a very sweet person) because she runs and hugs her at pickup and likes to play with her (as long as mom or dad are also there playing). We have to get her adjusted to solo time with the nanny over the next 2 weeks before I go back to work and I am looking for any advice you have. Thank you!
