Any new york city lawyers willing to give me some advice on the statutory 50-h hearings? I never practiced in ny, although licensed, and never dealt with said hearing. Not sure what to expect other than the other side being able to question claimant. Thank you.

It’s basically a first deposition for government entities. You can object etc but they really aren’t suppose to go heavy into damages, restrictions. Mainly to give them an opportunity to investigate the cause of action and liability. Most of the time it’s done by outside counsel not the gov entity themselves. I used to work for the law department, it’s important to go through with it because failure to comply can result in dismissal down the road.

Hi all,

I just got a job with Delta airlines and I had an accomodation request to work remotely as I am Immunocompromised. I provided all the neccesary documents to back up my request and letters and documents from my Dr. aswell. My request was denied because the team said they wanted me to have face time and one on one interactions with people from other team (which defeats the purpose of my request) because I have to limit those interactions to reduce the risk of infection. What do I do?

Hello All,
I am finishing up my second year of practice as a lawyer. I transitioned to plaintiffs pi work from a boutique commercial litigation firm. I like the work and not having to bill. The issue I am having is managing volume. I have about 150 active files some pre-lit and the rest are in litigation. Cases range in value from very small to low six figures. I also take the driver seat for the grunt work on the firms bigger cases which are at or near 7 figure value. I constantly feel (cont.)
