Tbh, I have to assume that all Consulting companies, especially the big 4 due to their private ownership models, have developed sharp elbows the last few years. Competition for our roles has grown even tougher than before.
Sharp elbows. You had better bring a very unique play and relationship set or have a powerful & committed sponsor. If you can get an internal network quickly and get baseline revenue flowing, it can be a wonderful platform. But beware of the "partners" who genuinely believe they are already delivering your unique play.
I think you’re right Partner1. Probably naive to think that internal competition isn’t intense at every firm. I will say at PwC there is a bit of a discrepancy in revenue goals between groups. You better be prepared to land and deliver several large engagements to survive.
