I am
I am too but I have heard that there’s large complexity with getting a work visa. Anyone heard anything on this?
Yeah I heard as well. Thinking of an internal transfer. Not sure how that works yet.
I moved to London earlier this year, M2. Visa was easy as long as you are only coming on assignment and not on a permanent transfer. Great cultural experience so far, should have done it regardless of the immigration vision. Problem now is that as per local laws the stay on my current visa (L1 counterpart) does not count towards PR, healthcare or pension, so pretty much certain to return to US via the L1A, EB1 route. Can’t complain but would’ve been nice to have that option .
@D I'm in the same boat as you. Moved here in Feb. Looking for way to convert my ICT to a regular work permit (Tier 2 general) don't think that possible so looking for other alternatives for staying back. What's your take into be general job market so far ? I'm into Analytics and management consulting.
@M, Short answer. If you are purely after money, US potential is hard to beat and the place to be. If you want a secure, gun free, proximal to India kind of a deal with good education but are willing to compromise on savings and wealth creation, UK is ideal.
@D1 totally agree with you on that.
@OP my husband is in a similar boat as you are. But it seems like there's a cooling period between an ICT visa and tier 2 general. Not sure if it can get it directly converted to tier 2.
